Roland has a casual and relaxed personality, often clashing with Angela and the Patron Librarians. Being a person who has hit rock bottom, he has come to accept what he cannot change or control, while trying to survive and do his best in any situation, expressing this through his saying "That's that and this is this". He also believes that everyone is responsible for their own choices and that any resulting consequences are entirely their own fault - even if another's choice led to said outcome.
