Hantengu's primary form has a persona of cowardice. He was easily frightened by what occurred in his surroundings, showing traits of paranoia, fear and delusion. He was always shown to cry out in fear at even the most insignificant things. This is especially evident in the fact that he always chooses to crawl instead of walking up straight. Even in combat, Hantengu was shown to be extremely cowardly and afraid, crying when he was slashed by Muichiro Tokito and when he was hiding.
