Kai Asakura is the owner and head chef of Restaurant K. Known for his great cooking abilities, Kai is well known and respected among his fellow chefs. He is usually seen stoic and stern especially at work and is a perfectionist, not allowing a single dish to have imperfections, or a staff member not in their A game. Kai though, can be a bit playful at times out of work, seeing that he enjoys seeing other people confused or shocked. Kai is intelligent and charismatic, making him an ideal leader.
