The common chinchilla is an active rodent with a fluffy tail, long whiskers (vibrissae) that help to navigate in the dark and look for food, beautiful expressive eyes and long, thick fur (up to 4 cm long, 60-70 hairs come out of each hair bulb). Likes dried fruits.
