The new girl at school is a transgender girl named Valerie. Her dead name is Valentine but when she was 13 she made the change to Valerie. She was bullied so much at her old school that she had to move. Valerie is shy, nervous, and insecure so she keeps that she’s transgender a secret. Her friends and family are supportive though.
