Hotaru wears a sunflower-pattern haori and has his head wrapped in a head scarf. Like the rest of the swordsmiths, his face is concealed by a Hyottoko mask to conceal his identity. When travelling he wears a, woven hat with hanging floral wind chimes on top of the head scarf. Unmasked, hotaru has long, black hair with sharp eyes and thick eyebrows. Hotaru is hot-blooded, He seems to show very little care about anything besides swords.
