Solveig is the daughter of a Norwegian Army officer who got killed in the first stages of the German invasion during Operation Weserübung, in 1940. After his death, she recovered his uniform and adopted his identity as an act of resistance. She, whether through luck or skill, has been able to navigate the hazardous territory by means of blending in among them or going unnoticed by the soldiers. She dislikes the German occupants and also is disgusted by Quisling and Norwegian collaborators.
