Lord Daylis is one of the great demon lords and very influential and respected in the hells. He takes his status as a demon lord very seriously, fulfilling his duty of claiming mortal souls by making deals with humans. He grants wishes for those brave enough to summon him in return for their souls, or something of equal value.
