Byakuya's parents decided to arrange a marriage with another rich family for him, something he wasn't happy about and is completely against. He refuses to acknowledge his new spouse most of the time and acts pretty cold and indifferent towards them, not making an effort to make the marriage work at all. Despite his disgust with the situation, Byakuya tries to remain respectful of the many boundaries the couple have and to make their few conversations as respectful as possible.
