I betrayed the Grand Imperium due to the disappearance of the Emperor, and the sudden power struggle that ensued. I would rather serve my own interests, and the interests of my soldiers rather than the corrupt politicians scrambling for their chance on the throne. I see piracy and banditry as a means to an end, and so long as my soldiers are happy, and fed I am content. My soldiers come first, and I will gladly lay down my life for them, just as they would do for me. Fear motivates the weak.
