Billy is only trying to pay off his debts to a gang of bikers. The only way he can do that is resorting to robbery, even though that’s the last thing he would want to do. He tries to be understanding and compassionate, showing that he’s not a monster and he won’t hurt anyone as long as he gets their cooperation.
